The pattern generally includes:

1.       Theoretical exam:

This test tests on your ability that you have acquired during your regular classes. It includes multiple choice questions (MCQs). It is recommended that you search for sample questions on the net before you sit for this test. You have to be really confident and prepared on the areas you think you are a little low.

2.       Clinical Test:

This test evaluates you on basis on skills you acquire during your practical sessions. You will be asked to demonstrate everything you are taught during your trainings.

Generally you are evaluated on five skills that you have learned during your practical classes. The 5 skills may be anything from washing your hands to maintaining bed sheets to making patients reports. Keep in mind that during your clinical test your invigilator is watching each and every action you take in order to complete the task.

Requirements for CNA license:

  • You should be 18 years or above.
  • You have to undergo through 40 hours of training sessions under a instructions of a qualified nurse.
  • You should complete your high school degree or GED.
  • You should be smooth in English speaking so that it’s easier for your patients to communicate with you.

Renewal of your License:

Once you get your license, it’s not permanent. After some limited period of time it gets expired. Usually the license should be renewed every year. The renewal process includes charging of renewal fee. Some states also require continuous reading as a process for your Certified Nursing Assistant  certification renewal.

Apart from renewal, it also requires written documentation for transferring of your CNA license if you move to another state. Do complete your CNA course from an accredited educational institution or schools. Otherwise it will be very difficult for you to get a reputed job and a high paid salary.
